International Day against violence and bullying at school
7th November 2024 – Today marks 2024’s International Day against violence and bullying at school, including cyberbullying, a cause fully endorsed by Kartesia Philanthropy and its partner Marion La Main Tendue, a French association dedicated to the fight against bullying and cyber bullying in France and beyond.
A significant number of children and adolescents around the world face school violence and bullying including cyberbullying, which adversely affects their health, well-being and education. This day calls on learners, parents, members of education communities, education authorities and a range of sectors and partners, including the tech industry, to participate in preventing all forms of violence and fostering safe learning environments that are essential for the health, well-being and learning of children and young adults.
In February 2024, Kartesia Philanthropy announced its partnership with Marion La Main Tendue. This partnership was established with the aim of expanding the visibility of the association internationally and supporting its volunteers in their awareness-raising campaigns towards European youth, leveraging Kartesia’s pan-European network.
As part of its work with Marion La Main Tendue, last month Kartesia Philanthropy helped to deliver a 3-day workshop and conference at the International French School of Amsterdam. From 9th to 11th October, >250 children were supported via eight sensitisation workshops and up to 100 parents and teachers were present for a conference on bullying and cyberbullying. Several similar projects have been secured for the coming months with French schools in Switzerland and Italy.
Kartesia and Marion La Main Tendue stand firmly behind all those affected by bullying and cyberbullying worldwide and reaffirm their commitment to continue to provide education and support on the topic in the years to come.
