Kartesia provides financing to support Verdane's partnership with Konvekta
Kartesia, the European specialist provider of capital solutions, is pleased to announce it has provided a tailored financing solution to Verdane (“the Sponsor”) to support its growth investment in Konvekta (“the Company”). The financing will be used to support the transaction and provide additional growth capital, further strengthening the partnership between Verdane and Konvekta’s and supporting their strategic growth objectives.
Founded in 1949, Konvekta is a leading provider of highly engineered energy recovery systems (“ERS”) for ventilation and air conditioning systems in large and specialized commercial buildings which provide market-leading energy recovery rates of up to 90-95%. The Company uses its sophisticated proprietary software for the design and optimization of their systems, implementing detailed calculations via a digital twin with high precision to provide tailor-made, high-performing, closed-loop systems. Konvekta employs c. 90 staff across its core regions DACH, USA and Asia, with its headquarters and production facility located in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Verdane is a European specialist growth buyout investment firm that specialises in supporting the growth of tech-enabled and sustainable businesses. The Sponsor first partnered with Konvekta in July 2025, initiating the succession of the family business and supporting the Company in its next growth phase.
The financing was provided by the Kartesia Impact Fund (KIF) and Kartesia Senior Opportunities (KSO) strategies. The transaction marks Kartesia’s first dedicated impact investment in the DACH region and the first deal with Verdane, demonstrating the continued growth of Kartesia’s presence in the region. Konvekta’s systems provide its customers with substantial emission reduction potential which is underlined by both Verdane and Kartesia investing out of SFDR Article 9 regulated impact funds, Idun II and KIF, to support an ESG leader. The deal team at Kartesia included Benjamin Schall, Nico Wellm and Vinzent Zimmer.
Nico Wellm, Associate Director at Kartesia, commented: “We are pleased to begin our collaboration with Verdane as we continue to deploy capital into attractive investment opportunities in the DACH region. Energy recovery systems, and Konvekta’s tailor-made systems in particular, can materially reduce energy consumption and emissions for customers while delivering an attractive return on investment – a truly impactful technology. This investment will enable Konvekta as it scales distribution and adoption of this technology globally. We look forward to working alongside the management team and Verdane to support the Company in its next phase of growth.”
Katja Schwarz, Principal at Verdane, said: “This financing solution and partnership with Kartesia will allow us to support Konvekta’s market-leading technology and mission and perfectly aligns with our investment strategy as equity and debt investments are made from Article 9 regulated funds, emphasizing the importance of sustainability. We are delighted to continue our commitment to the growth of an increasingly consequential player in the climate market, as well as growing our portfolio in the DACH region.”
Kersten Barth, CEO of Konvekta, added: “We are very excited about the prospect of working with experienced investors like Verdane and Kartesia as we continue to solidify our position as a leader in the ERS market. With their ESG-focused financial backing and sector expertise, we are confident we can deliver organic growth, geographic expansion and highly positive outcomes for our customers worldwide.”
