Kartesia provides additional financing for Matignon Group’s acquisition of The Gentlemen’s Clinic
Kartesia, the European specialist provider of capital solutions, is pleased to announce it has provided an additional financing package to Matignon Group (“Matignon” or the “Group”) to support the buy-and-build strategy of German entrepreneurial investor group Rigeto. The financing will be used for Matignon’s acquisition of Swiss medical aesthetic business The Gentlemen’s Clinic (“GMC”).
Since 2019, the Matignon Group has consistently pursued both organic and inorganic growth. Starting with five locations, the Group now operates 26 clinics across Switzerland and is widely recognised for its medical expertise and quality in both minimally invasive and invasive aesthetic treatments. Matignon offers a comprehensive range of solutions with a holistic approach to aesthetic medicine.
GMC is a leading medical aesthetic provider for male patients focusing on hair transplants, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments, botox, fillers and plastic surgery. It is the only male-focused aesthetic clinic in Switzerland and enjoys a strong brand reputation, offering a premium patient experience.
For Matignon, this acquisition represents a strategic move to enter the medical aesthetic market for male patients, with GMC benefitting from Matignon’s infrastructure and scale. The transaction marks yet another collaboration between Kartesia and Rigeto and continued support for the acquisitive growth strategy of Matignon with a suitable capital solution.
The capital was deployed from the Kartesia Senior Opportunities (KSO) strategy and demonstrates Kartesia’s continued strong momentum in the DACH region. The deal team at Kartesia included Nico Wellm and Marvin Knopp.
Nico Wellm, Investment Manager at Kartesia, commented: “We are very pleased to expand our support for Rigeto and their successful buy-and-build investment strategy at Matignon Group. The medical aesthetic market for men is growing strongly and will allow Matignon to capture a new segment of customers with a targeted treatment offering. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Rigeto and Matignon by expanding the leading medical aesthetic provider in Switzerland.”
Christopher Abdel Qader, Operations Director at Rigeto, added: “This is an exciting next step for Matignon, expanding the group’s offering into a highly attractive and fast-growing segment through the acquisition of the leading player in men’s medical aesthetics. Kartesia continues to show their ability to support us at every stage of the growth journey of Matignon, demonstrating a strong understanding of the business model, the wider market and our own buy-and build investment strategy as the group continues to expand.”
